THE SHORT ANSWER

Yes, if you've watched the show and have no car: £62 buys all eight places from the show in an afternoon, without the shop queue. If you drive and only want the shop, go yourself on a weekday morning. And if you hope to meet Jeremy or walk the fields, no tour can give you that.

Is Clarksons Farm Tour Worth It for You

A fan without a car Yes

The mini coach covers all eight places for £62 from Moreton-in-Marsh station, a direct train from Paddington.

A driver who only wants the shop Yes, if…

You go yourself, early on a weekday. The shop has no tickets and a car park outside.

Clarkson Farm Tour Tickets Price — Is It Worth Paying For

No tickets existThere are no tickets to Clarkson's Farm. The farm is closed to visitors, and Diddly Squat Farm Shop is free to walk into.

What you pay for is getting there and around: a tour from £62, or train and bus fares of about £20 from Oxford. Food, drink and the Hawkstone brewery tour (£24) are extra either way.

What the money is for. So the honest question is not the ticket but the day: the tour is worth paying for when you want the places around the shop as well — Chadlington, the flour mill, the Farmer's Dog — and have no car to reach them.

What £62 Buys vs a DIY Day — Is the Clarksons Farm Tour Worth It

The £62 mini-coach tour and a do-it-yourself day both get you to the farm shop, but they are not the same day out. Here is what each one actually includes, priced on the date we checked.

8 of 8places from the show on the tour, against 1 of 8 on the DIY day: Diddly Squat and its queue.

The tour — £62 per person. Four hours, starting and finishing at Moreton-in-Marsh station (14:00 on the date we checked), in a mini coach of up to 16 people with a guide. It stops at all eight places from the show on our list: the rival farm shop, Chadlington, a distant view of the farmhouse, Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Hawkstone Brewery, the flour mill, the Windrush Valley pub and the Farmer's Dog with its Grand Tour tent.

At Diddly Squat it's a photo and snack stop — you don't join the queue. Food and drinks are extra. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before; you can reserve now and pay later.

Getting to the start. Moreton-in-Marsh is a direct train from London Paddington: 84 to 93 minutes, about 38 trains a day, advance fares from £14 each way.

The DIY day — about £20 from Oxford. Train from Oxford to Charlbury (around 16 minutes, £8.20 off-peak single), a ten-minute walk to the bus stop, then the X9 towards Chipping Norton to the farm shop stop (about 20 minutes, £2). Back the same way. Buses are infrequent — miss one and you may wait an hour or two. You get Diddly Squat and its queue. The Farmer's Dog and Hawkstone have no useful bus link, so without a car or a taxi they're out of reach the same day.

What the difference buys. The tour pays for seven more places from the show, a guide who knows which village hall and whose wall, no queue at the shop and no bus timetable. If you're driving anyway and only want the shop, it buys you less — go early on a weekday instead. If you've watched every series and have no car, it's the simplest way to see the lot in an afternoon.

Where it scores lowestValue for money is the tour's weakest score on GetYourGuide — 4.4 out of 5, against 4.7 for the guide and 4.6 for transport.

“Looked after by Guide Chris and Driver Newman. The Cotswold’s is a lovely area and it was great to see the Diddly Squat Farm shop, sample a pint of Hawkestone cider and go to the Farmers Dog. Enough time in each location.”

Is Clarksons Farm Tour Worth It — FAQ

Is the Clarkson's Farm tour worth the money?

–

For fans without a car, yes: £62 covers all eight places from the show and skips the shop queue. If you drive and want the shop only, going yourself is cheaper and gives you as long inside as you like.

Are there Clarksons Farm tour tickets?

–

No. There are no tickets to the farm, which is closed to visitors, and Diddly Squat Farm Shop is free to walk into. You pay for a tour or for your own travel; nothing else is ticketed.

Is Diddly Squat worth visiting on its own?

–

If you've watched the show, yes, but plan around the queue: Tuesday to Thursday at 09:30 is the quietest. Visitors report 45 to 60 minutes or more on sunny weekends.

How long do you need at Diddly Squat?

–

Most visits take under an hour in the shop and outdoor seating, plus the queue on weekends. The private car tour gives you about an hour; the mini coach makes a shorter photo and snack stop.

Tour or on your own?

–

On your own is cheaper and gets you the shop. The tour adds seven more places from the show, a guide and no queue. Without a car, the tour is the only way to reach the Farmer's Dog and Hawkstone the same afternoon without a taxi.

What's the weakest part of the tour?

–

Value for money scores lowest, 4.4 out of 5. One reviewer wanted about 20 minutes more at the farm shop to buy merchandise; another, with three stars, called it a waste of a day.

Can I see the farm itself?

–

No. The farm is closed to visitors on every tour. You see the shop, the lambing barn and the outdoor seating, and the farmhouse from a distance on the mini coach.
